The inspiration for the Syco XT came from falling of a skateboard! Michael Hill one of the inventors started to think of a way to experience the thrill and exhilaration of skating in a skateboard bowl but without the inherent danger.
Michael started to study the natural movements and pivot points of the body. The axis points of the body were mapped and replicated through swing and pivot points on various prototype frames. After months of procrastinating Michael talked with his friend Alan Colk and together they came up with the original prototype they code named "Syco Bob".
Further down the road the name was changed from "Syco Bob®" to "Syco XT®" to help describe the cross training potential of the device.
It soon became evident to the inventors that they had made a major breakthrough in fitness equipment that was actually fun to use. The prototype has the unique ability to straddle three of the fastest growing markets in the world today - fitness, sport and entertainment. Syco XT® is the way of the future. By definition Syco XT® is a sport in its own right, and as it can be operated in a controlled environment. The implications for these three industries are enormous.
The response from test trials has been extremely positive. Syco XT® has put a smile on the face of everyone who has ridden it. An independent fitness equipment advisor who appraised the product was greatly impressed "I believe the device is of cutting edge design currently unavailable in the exercise/conditioning equipment marketplace."
The concept and design of Syco XT® appears simple but its development to a fully functional easy to use, safe, reliable and robust piece of equipment was complex. The production model has been designed to be easily adjusted to accommodate different users - from children to large adults.
